About Neil Winterrowd

For 17 years, Neil Winterrowd carried out a successful career as an annuities broker in the finance sector. He served as a Vice-President at Smith Barney in Long Beach, CA and Independent Advantage Financial & Insurance Services in Marina Del Rey, CA. In 2004, he founded Annuity Investment group in Irvine, CA. Although Neil was a highly regarded expert in the annuities business for years (on a national level), unfortunately difficulties with severe untreated depression and a resulting life threatening opiate addiction derailed his career and led to his departure from the finance industry.

After spending a year at the Serenity Lodge Lake Arrowhead rehabilitation facility in 2011-2012, Mr. Winterrowd became interested in supporting the drug-recovery program and helping people currently battling similar experiences. Since 2012, he has used his story to inspire others attempting to overcome addiction and mental health challenges. He has often been a keynote speaker on these issues and continues to practice the art of "giving back."

Currently, Neil Winterrowd is pursuing a new career in comedy screenwriting. In 2022, a meeting with a close fraternity brother/entertainment executive presented him with the opportunity to begin writing screenplays for feature films and television shows. Building from his college experiences as a stand-up comedian while attending U.C. Berkeley, Neil is now working with a major Hollywood studio to develop original comedy content.
